As knowledge workers, our minds munch on data and information every day. We personally favor the kind we can take action on to do something interesting, as you’ll see this Thursday. ACM DC will host our first DC meetup event in…..a while!
Join us as Victoria Battista covers some fun things we can do with Bureau of Labor Statistics and publicly available data sets. We also have Sean Gonzalez presenting on his path from Government contractor, to startup entrepreneur, through his Data Scientist-leaning perspective. Sean is an instrumental organizer for the DC Data Science community as well. Mike Salera is running the show for our event (Programs Chair of the DC ACM chapter). He’s a friendly guy, be sure to say hello and thank him for making this event happen.
What are the event details?
This Thursday, Sept 17th, 6pm @ Cove K street. Light snacks will be served. Full details and RSVP here: http://www.meetup.com/acm-dc/events/224594851/
What metaphorical utensils should I bring to munch on dinner data?
We are a bit old school, and think notepads and pencils are the best. If you prefer your tablet, phone, or laptop, bring your ad-blocker and close those extra browser tabs! If you have your tech with you, we will send you smiles and kindness if you upload a photo or comment on our meetup group. We also like these hashtags: #acmorg #dctech #dcacmevent.
