DC Tech User Groups – Event Reviews

Purpose: The chapter benefits because its members and subscribers will be introduced to new user groups and be able to follow user group trends in the DC area.  Its a great way to connect with other technical professionals with like-minded interests in a casual setting.

The Plan: We have started to reach out to a couple of user groups.  We want to recruit one organizer or attendee per user group to post a review of their last event on our CompuTopics blog.  This will show to our subscribers and members some of the interesting things that happen in these groups.

Local Tech Conferences – Event Discovery and Event Reviews

Purpose: We have been following technical conferences that are in the DC area every year, or that come through once every few years.  Its harder to keep tabs on the latter, unless you’re already in the field of interest.  We hope to track those and showcase them.

The Plan: We have a calendar within our parent organization, unfortunately the tool is dated, but fortunately the data is not.  We will use this to periodically check what conferences are in the DC area, as well as DC Tech Events, peers and colleagues.  We aim to acquire discounts for our membership.  We also plan to get free tickets for raffle, or free media passes for persons in our community to review these events for us.
