Programs Committee
We provide the event brainstorming, event planning, and event hosting logistics for several types of events. The main two types of events are public lectures and professional development seminars. Public lectures are free to the public, and usually entail a lecture, presentation, demo, or panel discussion. Our professional development seminar is also offered to the public, but is usually an all day or two day event with fees attached. The seminars are meant to help professionals advance their knowledge in a skillset related to their job, desired career direction, or hobby interest. We have some additional events we try to put on periodicially, such as SIG-BEER happy hours, career workshops, and mentorship forums. In addition, we are charged with proposing the Programs budget to the Executive Council each year. We accept and task interested volunteers quite regularly. See our Projects page in the main menu, and our available volunteer positions to the right and bottom of this webpage.
